MILAN DESIGN WEEK
Baranzate
                            Milan, Ap. 2024

ADELINE HALOT x MAXIME HALOT x LOICK HERRY

For this Milan Design Week edition, I explored scales from monumental works to smaller formats, with the strong presence of cast shadows from the sculptures creating an additional layer of architecture in this proposal.

I exhibited with my brother Maxime Halot. Although each of us follows our own artistic path, we merge our worlds and make them converse. Maxime's sculptural furniture, with its elegant curves and organic oxidized finishes, harmoniously echoed my woven metal sculptures.

Loïck Herry enhanced our work with a unique scenography—large floating panels painted with lime, water basins that oxidised over the week—aiming to make the space come alive.

About -

Maxime Halot is a Brussels-based furniture designer. His research focuses on exploring the possibilities of metal processing, including shaping, surface treatment and material manipulation. He develops bending and assembly techniques to give his creations light, elegant curves with multiple interpretations. He creates sculptural furniture with architectural forms, resulting from the use of custom-designed tools. His creations play a perpetual game between the concepts of lightness and heaviness, or fullness and emptiness.

In his latest research, he experiments with the oxidation of steel, sublimating a common material. Thanks to the instability of his oxidation technique, he gives free rein to the material, bringing out unexpected colors and shapes.
